General Motors recently put out an obnoxious advertisement in College newspapers and got lambasted for it all over Twitter and various news sites and blogs. So they withdrew it. Giant Bicycles did a WONDERFUL rebuttal ad in the form of a parody.
You can read about it here and lots of other places if you just google “GM reality sucks” or look for #GMfail on Twitter. (My tweet: “I own a Giant bicycle and NOTHING from GM. Fondly recall my ’37 Chevy, though. Reality sucks when a stupid ad makes me hate GM #GMfail.”)
I don’t want to write more about that, though. Too negative.
Here’s what I want to write about. This morning, I read Frazz episode that restored my faith in (some of) humanity. Yeah, baby! Cyclists look forward to the big game, too.

Update from roadbikerider.com:
— “The content of the ad was developed with college students and was meant to be a bit cheeky and humorous and not meant to offend anybody. We have gotten feedback and we are listening, and there are changes underway. They will be taking the bicycle ad out of the rotation…. We respect bikers, and many of us here are cyclists.”
– General Motors spokesman Tom Henderson, after the firestorm of protest from cyclists over GM’s ill-conceived “Reality Sucks” ad attempting to “shame” cyclists off their bikes and into a GM car or truck, featuring the tagline “Stop pedaling . . . start driving.”
